Vodacom received a compliance notice whereby they had neglected to change their customer contacts therefore explaining their call rates. Vodacom COO of corporate affairs mentioned that they were surprised to have received this notice from the NCC. Maurice explained that there is already an amendment process, the finalization date was agreed to be 31st October.
Therefore the statement in Today’s Business Day is baseless which explained that Vodacom has refused to amend their customer contracts. Vodacom has said that they working with NCC closely to update their contracts to fall inline with the new policies.
