After many months, other cellular network already are offering the Nokia E7 but Virgin Mobile still has the device listed as “coming soon”. South African that shall acquire the device will be expecting Symbian Anna. The R6349 valued device is on a Classic Phone Contract 300 which includes R300 airtime per month together with 1000 free SMS’s and a R20 compulsory billing.
Nokia N8 business-orientated successor features a 8 megapixel camera, Ovi Maps with free navigation (standard). With a Nokia ClearBlack display, the black parts that the user sees, it enhances the contrast thus enabling better vision for the E7 user.

The ZTE manufactured device, S308 is available on MTN PayAsYouGo for R69. This device is mainly targeted at those that just want a device to make the regular calls, send text messages and know the time. The 1.4″ display is good enough for those people.
This deal also brings a free starter pack as well as 420 minutes voice talk time. Other private deals are reaching up to R100 to R200. ZTE mentions on the specs list that the FM radio is optional and that this device has a flashlight which is powered by the 670mAh battery.
The Gingerbread HTC Flyer is now available on a Vodacom Top Up 135 where you pay R269 for the 2 year contract. The deal includes 110MB data for the first 3 months valued at R134 per month, there is also a R135 subscription charge which is included in the R269.
The device brings the latest HTC sense with Android 2.3.3, the Tablet can record HD videos at 720p. The user will have the advantage of having a 4000mAh battery that can last up to 1400 hours.
Vodacom is offering the Windows Phone OS 7 Samsung I8700, not only do you receive the device as part of the deal – you also receive 110MB data for the first 3 months of the contract. As per all contract devices, you also receive a 2 year handset warranty.
Currently, this is the only official Windows Phone 7 available in the market, the Toshiba Windows Phone IS12T is due for an expected release towards the 3rd Quarter of the year. The WP7 Samsung is available at a prepaid price of R3000.
With many LG Optimus devices, this is one of the best ones after the LG P920 3D. Vodacom at the moment, is offering the LG P970 for R430 which includes 110MB data free for the first 3 months. With this device being really thin, it doesn’t weigh that much either.
With high internet speeds up to HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps, surfing the web will be fast and without fear if you drop your device, the Gorilla Glass display will do its job. The device does come with Froyo but you can upgrade it to Gingerbread.
A device that has good social integration, has a suitable keyboard for emails, that same device that should have 3G, doesn’t have 3G. The Nokia is a good device but its lacking 3G, something that is essential with smartphones and especially if the purpose is social networking.
Again, contracts are expensive therefore many people look more forward to prepaid devices since it is cheaper and that the user can use the device without any limits. With this Top Up 135 contract deal, you get 50 free sms’s for the 2 year contract length and get charged with per minute billing.
The Nokia E6 is the latest Nokia device which runs on Symbian Anna, is currently available at Vodacom at R800 for 2 years which then the customer pays R19200, there are other options to buy the device on prepaid at a cost of R5000±. Even though you won’t get all the benefits with the prepaid deal, it is better then paying it once-off then use it the way you want.
The device has recently been added to the Vodacom sale list therefore the deal is till stock lasts. Nokia has mentioned many times that Symbian Anna will be available during the beginning of August, after the Nokia E6 and X7 have been released.
Vodacom has finally introduced the LG C300 Town for sale at a price of R135 per month for the 2 year contract length. The deal does include 20 free SMS per month for the 2 years, with this deal, there is per second billing rather than per minute.
The LG device has a QWERTY keyboard which should be easy for computer users to use, but with no 3G, web browsing will be difficult and slow especially since there isn’t the latest flash. But for those that want a normal device for everyday use, this is a good choice and indeed recommended.
